BEWARE: Do not outstay your visa. Should you overstay your designated period on whatever visa you have you may be jeopardizing any future visa you may be eligible for.
Some immigration lawyers will do a free consultation, though these tend to be quite rushed affairs. You should be ready with information such as education levels and current work opportunities and a resume/CV. You may have options to qualify for a work visa, but make no mistake this is a very difficult process.
Should anyone be wondering which lawyer I used for my visa, it was Encino based, British born Bernard Sidman. His website is www.bernardsidman.com, he will be happy to discuss your situation.
The Visa Lottery is a very controversial subject. There are websites that exist where you can pay to have your name entered into the lottery, whereby the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) randomly choose a certain amount of visas to award. Different people offer different information. Depending on where you were born, you may be eligible for the Visa Lottery. Some of these websites that will take your money, and tell you that you are in the Visa Lottery even when you do not qualify. Invest your money with caution, take legal advice.
To find local immigration lawyers use internet search sites and the The Yellow Pages www.yellowpages.com
